Social Media Consultant–Finally, a Name for What I Do!

I was just reading an article entitled “The Number One New Job Opportunity in Corporate America For The Next 10 Years, ” and I finally found a name to call myself: a social media consultant.

This is pretty exciting for a few reasons.

Number one, people are always asking me, “What do you do?” Now I am not sure that the name social media consultant will give them any more ideas, but at least I have something to put on my business cards.

Number two, it helps me to establish a focus for how to approach new projects. For instance, instead of just sitting down and figuring out ways to optimize a page for the search engines, albeit an important first step, I will go to work immediately on creating a social buzz for my clients. The sooner this is done, the better.

Third, it lends credibility to the activities I do from home in my jammies. Yes, I work in my robe and slippers, okay? That way I can get up early in the morning and not be slowed down by a pesky shower.

Finally, as a trainer and super guide for the Renegade Professional, I can now teach others to be social media consultants on their own. I think that may be the most exciting reason of all.
